What is 'coaching'?
What is holistic life coaching, and how does it differ from therapy?
Therapy
Therapy focuses on treating and healing psychological issues. It often involves exploring the past in depth, including trauma, significant life events, and patterns that have caused or maintained these issues. The goal of therapy is recovery and symptom relief.
Holistic Life Coaching
(Holistic) life coaching, on the other hand, focuses on personal growth, direction, and creating a fulfilling life. It views the person as a whole: mentally, emotionally, physically, and—when appropriate—spiritually. When one of these areas is out of balance, it often affects other parts of life, such as relationships, work, or overall well-being.
A holistic life coach helps you become aware of your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, and how they shape your life. The focus is on the present and the future: what do you want to change, where do you want to go, and which steps will help you get there? The past may be briefly explored for insight, but we don’t dwell on old stories.
Holistic life coaching is not about “fixing what’s broken,” but about strengthening self-awareness, personal agency, and sustainable change from within. You take the steps; the coach guides, asks powerful questions, and supports you along the way.
